The Ontario mortgage industry, the largest in Canada, has dozens of mortgage lenders for consumers to use, but not all of them are available to consumers without using a mortgage broker. It is important to know who those mortgage lenders are, and the products, services and rates offered by each to determine the best lender for you.
In the following list, I’ve noted which lenders are available strictly through mortgage brokers, directly to the public, or a combination of both.
Lenders are typically categorized by the type of business in which they specialize: prime mortgage lending (A lending) or sub-prime mortgage lending (B lending).
